Ingredients
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.

Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.

In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar for coating.

Scoop dough into balls and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.

Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.

Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
Notes

Chill dough for 20–30 minutes if too soft.

Do not overbake for soft cookies.

Use fresh cinnamon for best flavor.

Cookies will continue cooking slightly after removal from oven
